100 Word Challenge #49 I was so cross that…

It was a day like any a day and  I was at the table eating breakfast with my family when all of a sudden my sister spilled her juice on me. I was so cross that I screamed and yelled at my sister.

“WHY DID YOU SPILL JUICE ON ME!!!”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it,” my sister protested.
“YES, YOU DID!!!” I screeched.
“No, I didn’t,” she replied.

“Kids stop fighting,” dad said.
“Or no ice-cream,” mum threatened.

“OK mum we won’t do it anymore,” we said in unison.
We finished our breakfast and slouched off to our bedrooms to get ready for school.

  1. Well written Callum.
I really like the way you have used so many different variations on the word “said”. Each one (threatened, protested, screeched, replied, said in unison) conveys a very different mood or feeling. I wonder if there are other ways you can share these different feelings?

  2. Hi Callum,
I enjoyed reading your story. Well done.
I think I’d be cross as well if my sister spilled her juice on me.
I love how “ice-cream” always solves all problems!
    Good work this week.
